Stolen flying Ford Anglia comes in to land

Harry Potter’s flying Ford Anglia, which appeared in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and which mysteriously vanished six months ago, has turned up at a hilltop castle. The turquoise car has not been seen since it was taken from the South West Film studios in Cornwall last year. MORE

Miranda Richardson loved being Rita Skeeter

In a new interview in the UK newspaper The Independent, Miranda Richardson mentioned her appearance as rude Daily Prophet reporter Rita Skeeter in the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She says she loved playing Rita Skeeter, and that fans were really sweet to her.

Major casting change on Order of the Phoenix

Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange was to be played by Helen McCrory in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but it was announced today that because of her pregnancy, she’s now been replaced by Helena Bonham Carter. In addition, the casting of the young Marauders has also been completed.

Bloomsbury director says Harry Potter 7 likely for 2007

Bloomsbury Director of Publishing, Liz Calder, while on a visit to India, is quoted as saying, “The next Harry Potter book is likely to come out in 2007.” She also confirmed there would be only 7 Potter books, although J.K. Rowling could write other books for Bloomsbury after Harry Potter concludes.

Harry Potter gives British films a boost

Harry Potter helped British films double their world box office takings in two years, according to figures announced yesterday. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the Top 10 UK film last year.

Half-Blood Prince decision becomes law precedent

In 2003, J.K. Rowling won an injunction against “person or persons unknown”, restraining them from disseminating the contents of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. This could have legal implications today to corporations that are being threatened anonymously by activist groups.

Da Vinci does not break out of Azkaban in the UK

The Da Vinci Code movie has taken £9.5m at box offices in the UK and Ireland in its first three days of release. However, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban still holds the box office record in the UK, the third Harry Potter film made £23.9m when it made its debut in 2004
