McFly not amused at Dan Radcliffe’s comments

Bass player Dougie of the popular young band McFly had said about Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, “He’s slagged us off in interviews - we’ve never met him, so I don’t know where it’s coming from. He’s going to be embarrassed when he does meet us.See the full article here.

BlogPulse announced its lists of the top ten blogs and topics across a variety of categories in the blogosphere for 2005. Harry Potter was the most popular person on the list, fueled by the theater debut of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Hollywood planning for big confrontation in book 7

The last Harry Potter book, as yet untitled, is expected to give an even bigger role to Voldemort. The Mail quotes a Hollywood executive: “The Voldemort plotline can’t be left up in the air. There has to be this fantastic final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort that will finish off one of them, or both.”

Orphan not afraid of Goblet of Fire after living through tsunami

A year after the tsunami swept away his family, eight-year-old Karl Nilsson is adjusting to a whole new life. Before going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, his Grandmother asked, “Don’t you think it will be a bit frightening to watch it?” But he said, “I don’t get scared, I have been through the tsunami.”

Harry Potter props designed by muggles

It is a little known fact that the distinctive look of the newspaper read by big-screen and literary hero wizard Harry Potter and his friends is the work of a couple of muggles. A computer expert from Leicester and a doctor from Manchester are responsible for the Daily Prophet’s now famous typeface.

A Christmas message from J.K. Rowling

After a long dry spell, J.K. Rowling has posted a new message to her fans on her official website, in which she talks about the excitement and dread of attacking the last Harry Potter book, promises to answer many more fan questions, and wishes all her fans Happy Holidays.

Dan’s first kiss in December Boys

The Sydney Sunday Telegraph has a new article on the Harry Potter actor’s new role in December Boys currently being filmed in Australia. In it, they ask him about his first on-screen kiss:

“I’m very nervous,” Radcliffe said yesterday. “But thankfully, Teresa, who plays Lucy, is also very nervous, so that will make it slightly easier.”

Albuquerque woman wins signed Harry Potter book in raffle

An autographed first-edition copy of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, valued at $3,000, was raffled off by the Belen Library in New Mexico. The raffle raised $3,569 for the library. The winner purchased 35 raffle tickets.

Plaque to mark Harry Potter’s birthplace in Edinburgh

A plaque commemorating the place where Harry Potter was created is set to be put up outside a Chinese restaurant on Nicolson Street which was formerly Nicolson’s coffee shop, where J.K. Rowling famously went to work on her books while still a struggling single mother.
